Natalia Wewior is the Senior Compliance Specialist for the Sabeti lab. Natalia liaises with study staff, external collaborators, and varied departments within the Broad Institute to ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations and policies that govern research procedures. She further supports the lab with navigating the ethical, legal, and social issues that are pertinent to pathogen genomics.
Natalia received her undergraduate degree from Boston University, majoring in biochemistry. Natalia graduated from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health with a Master of Bioethics degree, where she wrote her thesis about maximizing the uptake and access of genome editing as a prevention and treatment of disease. Natalia is particularly drawn to the ethical challenges borne to the operationalization of emerging technologies, and is eager to advocate for ethically sound research that drives equity forward policies.
Outside of the lab, Natalia enjoys traveling, skiing, and frequenting the Boston Public Garden.
