Lisa Freimark worked as part of the Infectious Disease Initiative with the Sabeti lab preparing samples for whole genome sequencing to study the genetic diversity and population structure of tick-borne diseases. She also worked on the identification of viruses in cerebrospinal fluid.
Before joining the Sabeti Lab Lisa worked on projects involving paleo-proteomics, dimethyl sulfide exchange at the air/sea interface in the open ocean, tracing terrestrial carbon input via groundwater along the southeast US coastline, and the degradation of chlorophyll in deep-sea Antarctic sediment. Lisa holds a Master’s degree in Oceanography and Marine Science and has a background in chromatography and mass spectrometry.
