Alexis Gaab (She/Her) is a Senior Administrative Assistant in the Sabeti Lab.  She serves as the Central Proposal Manager for funding applications and partners with the Senior Ops Manager on financial responsibilities.  She also manages letter of recommendation requests for Pardis and also leads the image licensing and attribution process for Operation Outbreak’s textbook. On a broader scale, she is very interested in infectious diseases and their interaction with our immune system, as well as increasing access to public health services in underserved communities.

Alexis studied Molecular and Cell Biology with an emphasis in Immunology and Pathogenesis at the University of California, Berkeley, graduating in 2022. During her final year at Cal, she interned remotely as a Communications Intern for the Sabeti Lab. For two summers during undergrad, she was a summer intern for FirstElement Fuel, a company focused on hydrogen fuel alternatives and building hydrogen infrastructure.

Outside of the lab, Alexis loves traveling, running, listening to music, and watching Dodger baseball.
