The Sabeti lab is looking for an Genomic Education Coordinator to join an exciting and dynamic research team of scientists, computational biologists, and project managers investigating infectious disease using computational and experimental genomics approaches. In addition to our research goals, the Sabeti lab is also deeply invested in building genomics diagnostic, surveillance, and research capacity in Africa by developing rigorous training programs in Cambridge and throughout West Africa. Candidates should be well-versed in fundamental biological and genetics and public health concepts in order to lead science education efforts for African scientists. The Genomics Education Coordinator will be responsible for developing course curricula and materials, managing administrative logistics for students, and regularly communicating with course instructors on ways to improve training strategies. It is our goal to foster an engaging learning community, where participants are equally teachers and students.

OEB is a diverse and vibrant department with a broad range of research and teaching interests, ranging from the evolution and control of gene expression patterns within individuals and populations to the dynamics of ecosystems. Field and laboratory studies are key to understanding the evolution of organisms, how biodiversity is generated and maintained, how organisms work, and how organisms interact with their environment. OEB has close working associations with its allied institutions: the Museum of Comparative Zoology (MCZ) and the Harvard University Herbaria (HUH), as well as the Arnold Arboretum and the Harvard Forest. These institutions and their collections offer an unparalleled, rich set of resources for OEB students, faculty, visitors and staff.
